Thank you to everyone who has expressed interest in getting involved with one of Connect Edgmont’s projects! Our current goals include supporting the development of a township trail network and increasing access to Ridley Creek State Park through the addition of new park entrances. We hope these goals and the ongoing effort to engage the community in the new elementary school project will help strengthen the sense of community in Edgmont and provide even better outdoor recreation opportunities for all of us in the future.
So how can you help out? We recommend that you start where we started: the Edgmont Township Comprehensive Plan.
The Comprehensive Plan meticulously lays out the Township’s goals, priorities, possibilities, and limitations. It serves as a guide for the Township when future trails, recreation, and open space plans are considered. The Plan mentions many possible projects that could be very exciting for Edgmont Township, but to date relatively few of these initiatives have actually come to fruition.
We frequently referenced the Comp Plan as we developed Connect Edgmont’s mission. As a result, we feel confident that our stated objectives are consistent with the Township’s vision. One missing element is resident involvement and support for these initiatives which is, of course, where you come in!
Please take time to read the Comprehensive Plan, or at least the specific sections that interest you. The document is quite long so, for ease of skimming, we have marked up a copy by highlighting all sections that relate to Connect Edgmont’s current projects. This highlighted copy is available for download here:

Thanks again for your willingness to get involved. We are excited to see what we can accomplish together!
