Help Secure Funding to Upgrade the Township Park

One of Connect Edgmont’s goals is to foster a greater sense of community, specifically through the promotion of outdoor recreation opportunities. Reaching this goal involves creating and promoting community events and, occasionally, letting you know how you can take action to support our local government. Today I’m reaching out about the latter.

Edgmont Township is currently applying for state funding to make improvements to the Community Park on Gradyville Road. Specifically, the Township is requesting funding to add a shade canopy over the swings (!!) and to make the entire swing area ADA accessible by extending the paved pathway to the swings, upgrading the mulch around the swings and adding a bench.

Would these improvements enhance YOUR enjoyment of our local park? (As a parent of a swing-addicted toddler, the shade canopy sounds particularly exciting to me!) If so, please consider writing a letter of support.

Sample letters are available for download above. Simply plug in your info, add some personalizing touches and email the completed letter to the Assistant Township Manager, Lacey Faber (lfaber@edgmont.org) no later than March 25th.

Thanks for your consideration. I hope resident support can help to make our local park even better!!
